On 7th March 2019 International SYMPOSIUM on PEACE and DEVELOPMENT in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to be hosted by H.E.Prof.Dr.CHHUN Vannak, Owner, CEO and President of IIMC; Founder, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of International Institute for Scientific Research (IISR), with Her Excellency Felicidade S. Guterres, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and to be organized by The Embassy of The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, International Institute for Scientific Research, International Investment Management Consulting, The United Nations in Cambodia, in close partnership with UNESCO, ASEAN Study Center, G7+ intergovernmental organization, The University of Cambodia, National University of Management and Cambodia Institute for Peace and Cooperation, European Union Delegation in Cambodia and other key relevant partners. The identified sponsors are: Embassy of Timor -Leste in Cambodia, IIMC, Borribo Microfinance Institution, UNDP, EU, UN in Cambodia, Commercial Banks, German Embassy in Cambodia, Swedish Embassy in Cambodia, Japanese Embassy in Cambodia, AUSAID, USAID, JICA, KOICA and other key development partners. The primary objectives of the 1st Symposium are: 1. To promote peace building, making, keeping and enforcement processes and mechanism in the world; 2. To share country’s successul peace making and maintenance and good lessons learnt in the post conflict periods through a showcase of Cambodia and Timor-Leste, as well as other war-torn countries in Asia and Africa; 3. To ensure comprehensive long-term stable peace for inclusive resilient development; 4. To assess increasing interdependence of peace and sustainable development; 5. To see how inclusive resilient green development and sustainable development goals assure sustainable stable peace; 6. Disseminate information of political, economic and financial stability vital to peace and development. The International Symposium on Peace and Development is to be attended by 350 participants, including ministers, politicians, country representatives, students, academicians, professors, scientists, peacekeepers, diplomats, line ministries, NGOs, Civil Society, the UN System, bankers and economists.
